Ocellaris clown odd behavior

Megaloptera

I noticed one of my clowns "claiming" my green star polyps. I thought this was odd since I also have an bubble tip anemone. Oh well, they may claim what they will. Then the clown would have his face buried into the star polyps past his eyes, body sticking straight up. He would do this multiple times. Maybe he's eating lost food particles? Maybe he's cleaning to get ready for a spawn? Both of those were my hope. Then I noticed his face and pectoral fins looked a little raw. Hmmmm. My first thought was the star polyps could have been harming his face. Then he would hide in a cave for most of the day except to eat. I watched him for a few more days and his face still looked a little raw. Now my best guess is ICH! I haven't noticed and swimming past or scratching on rocks. Can the fish feel ICH? If so, does anyone know if star polyps could have a soothing affect for the fish?

This is my first reef, and if you know something I don't, help fill me in.
