Ocellaris Clowns

I recently purchased two Ocellaris clowns, and they seem to be very finiky eaters. I've tried three different brands of flake food that my tomatto clowns eat and they don't seem to care for it. I tried some thawd out frozen formula II and they didn't seem to go for it. Tonight i'm going to try some thawd out frozen brine shrimp but thats the last of what I have to offer. Has anyone had these issues or have found someway to get them to eat flake or found something that they love?

Thanks,
Chris

As long as they are healthy, they wll eventually start eating the food you put in. Usually brine shrimp and mysis works well to get fish to start eating. It may take the fish a few days to start recognizing "your" food as what they should be eating.

Great.. I plan on trying the shrimp tonight. thanks for the info, its what I hoped and expected.

cyclopeeze frozen will work when they are finicky.it is small enough to trigger plankton feeders to eat and works for anthias and juvenial fish that are tough to get to eat.if that does not work ,live baby brine shrimp.

I have the freeze-dried cyclopeeze, would you consider that the same or at least a decent equivelent?

unfortunately not the same.in fact for some reason ,my fish, even the aggressive ones don't love it.the frozen is like eggs that have neutral buoyancy and for some reason larval fish and baby clown fish suck it up.my perculas that i had for years, started spawning a month or two after i started using it regularly.anthias that i had which were very finicky ,eat it aggressively and colored up soon after.it is used by most clown fish breeders also.hard to get,but todd gets it every so often.or you can order it from dr fosters and smith.let me know if you are going to order it,i will go in on a order with you.
