ocellaris feeding habits

Everytime I feed my ocellaris they tend to spit a lot of the food out.
I feed them mysis shrimp which they seem to enjoy but a lot of the pieces they eat get spat right out. Normal?

depends on how big the food is. try smaller size mysis, flake, or pellet foods. I like feeding mine a mix of flake, pellet and a good mix of frozen.

I give them cobalt spirulina/mysis flakes and frozen mysis.
Will try NLS pellets next. What pellets do you give?
Do you give them frozen bbs?

When I first got my saddlebacks they would spit out food too. There were barely an inch and really small and I think the food particles were just too big for them. I find its really helpful to soak thier food(sometimes for several hours). This makes the food soft so they can eat it. Now after a month or so they can handle NLS pellets without a problem but soaking really helped me out. I feed NLS and Frz Mysis.
