Ocellaris not hosting in GBTA...?

I have recently purchased a pair of small tank raised ocellaris, and a green bubble tip. They were purchased seperately about a week ago. The clowns have yet to take to the gbta, everyone is healthy, just uninterested it seems. Can any one tell me on average how long it will take for them to begin hosting, or will it even happen? Thanks in advance

I could take days, weeks, or months, or maybe even never.
I've had an RBTA in my tank with two percs of unknown origin and they haven't even done more than look at the RBTA crosseyed.
I've had an LTA in my tank for a month and they haven't even looked at that one at all.

Be patient, and when you run out of patience feel free to discuss your feelings with the clownfish, and when you get tired of talking to the fish, give up hope. Once you give up hope, they'll go in there just to spite you.

As I understand it .....it may never happen.Mine have been in the tank with a GBTA for about 8 months. They never come near it.IMO the tank raised fish are having the natural tendancy bred out of them.I bought a wild caught pair of Clarkii clopwns and they went right to the Anemonie. In a differant tank of course. In nature the Anemonie is a haven from danger, mabey putting a 6' Barracuda in the tank would help!!!

sometimes it is just luck.

anyway, when you have other clowns in the aquarium and you add bta. chances are common clowns would not stand a chance.

my bet is not to introduce other clowns in the aquarium if u wish common clowns to bta. The other clowns like tomato or maroon are likely to chase the residents out. based of my experience.

my recent experience was remove all clowns and introduce rbta and 2 common clowns

before introduction into the tank, they hosted in it. 1st day they too residence in it too. however over the course of several days they wandered the 210G tank without returning to the host anemone.

then 1 morning about a week after introduction, i saw them hosting in the anemone and has stay there since.

From what I have heard some tank raised clowns don't host as much compared to wild caught.

For mine what I did was scoot them close to the BTA ( scare em a little ) then insinctively they will hide in the BTA' viola... they they will stay there.
