OCT 20th: Frag Meet at my house!

I am hosting a frag meet at my house on Saturday, October 20th from noon to 4pm and all STRS members are cordially invited. I am hoping everyone can make it! You don’t need anything to trade or even want to buy anything. Just stop by to see the tank, meet some friends, and have some food. It should be a really fun time. Post here if you can make it so I have an idea of who will be coming. See you all then!

Are kids invited? I have my kids saturdays, but I'd like to swing by if possible.

If I do make it, can I bring anything - chips, soda, etc?

At my house kids are always welcome! If people need to or would like to bring their kids that is fine with me. I will have a 5 year old and a 1 year old running around for them to play with plus lots of toys.

Jackson I am not sure what I will be doing for food just yet. I probably won’t decide until just before the frag meet when I know how many people are going to make it. If you want to bring some soda to share that would be really cool. I am sure people would like that and I have a fridge in the basement we can keep them cold in.

Sounds great Nate. Thanks for hosting. You had also mentioned possibly everone running up to the zoo afterwards. That might be a good opportunity to let everyone see the tank and discuss some loose ends, future directions and a good group photo. However, folks might want to get their frags home so if folks prefer, we can do the zoo thing another time. Inh either case it will be good to hang with everyone without having to work on the tank, and of course I always love looking at Nate's tank. My daughter may be along for the ride.

Count me in too, This sounds like it will be good timing for me to pick up some frags for the new tank. Just have to make sure I have some money left ... I seem to be going through that quickly.

I should be there... My long polyp sarco (GARF via Dr B) hit the chopping block last weekend.. so those frags should be ready soon.
This could also be a good time to get frag donations for the zoo tank

Good idea piazzon! The zoo tank can still use a few things. Almost any LPSs...we currently have green hammer and pink tipped frogspawn. As far as softies, green nepthia, yellow sarcophyton, spaghetti leather, long polyped sarco (mine is too small to frag just yet) could make nice additions. Of course a clam would be great. I will continue to add sps.

I think it would be cool to go up to the zoo afterwards! Some people haven’t seen the tank up there yet and for those of us who have it will be nice to see how it is progressing. Not everyone has to go but if there is enough interest we can go up. It is less than a minute from my house.

I have some nice green Haorys, some brown with green center hairys and some cabbage leathers.

I was thinking about cooking out and having some hamburgers and hotdogs for everyone. My wife also agreed to make up some of her really good dips. Does that sound good to everyone?

deffinatly...if they are as good as the cali pizza i'll bring some chips...if you need more grill space, i can bring mine down as well...

My wife makes some really good dips! She makes a Mexican dip that is always a party favorite and a buffalo chicken dip that is really good too! If you want to bring some corn chips that would be cool, I could use those. Also if it is not too much trouble I think it would be nice to have two grills. That way everything can be hot at one time. This will be fun. Frag meet/BBQ
