Oct meet

Denise, I was in before just because I am interested in getting a clam or two and don't want to watch it/them wither away. NOW for sure I'm in. Brunswick is close to me and the Atrium is a wonderful place to meet. Count me in. Maybe John will break down and come too. Sue

Jason, I'll take notes. Maybe someone can videotape it. I don't have a video camera. If not video maybe audiotape. Just a thought. Have fun. Sue

It will probably be at Bowdoin College, I can get a room free of charge but it will cost $250 for audio and visual...... Bummer....was hoping for another freebie

Anyone have any leads elsewhere, I would like to stay somewhat close to P-land, as Barry has to fly that evening. and I have booked a room at the Atrium in Brunswick..... The Atrium has banquet rooms but the cost is also bout $200 with no audio/visual.............. I have the room at Bowdoin reserved and should let them know by Aug 25

What about maybe in Augusta at the UMaine library? Or a classroom there?

Also, don't most of the hotels have banquet style conference rooms with audio/visual that rent for fairly cheap?

:D

Good ideas and I will look into it.... just in case , does anyone have acces to a connection to a alptop, a projcector and a screen? The room is free at Bowdoin, but for the AV stuff, the price is too high for us

Check with SMCC, they might be interested in this since they have a marine biology major.

Shoot, I'd be interested in going there just to see what they are up to. UMO has an AWESOME program for marine biology where they are experimenting with the coloration of fish, mismarkings, aquaculture issues, etc...

:D

I can get ahold of a laptop and projector if needed. I don't have a screen though, nor any sound equipment.

We are talking with SMCC, they sounded very interested. The date falls on their open house date , but that could work in our favor and theirs too... lots of people coming and going.... Perhaps we could get them to host a meet as well....

Denise

Excellent. That would be a great place to have the meet.

Would open house mean that we could tour the marine program afterwards?

Here is an SMCC contact.

Brian Tarbox [BTarbox@smccme.edu]

A very nice person who runs there aquaculture facility. He has offered tours to the club in the past. They raise trout and lovsters during the school year.

Matt

Lovsters?! Love it ;)

It will be at SMCC, the Marine Center Rm 111... directions will be posted later..... as it is an open house I would guess the facility is open to see... we can be sure to pay Brian a visit.

I will put out some flyers to ya all, please do your best to get them out to the LFS etc.....

Now I need to find Barry a reasonable roon in Portland, besides the fact that the Atrium is closing, it is a bit out of the way now..... any suggestions?

Denise

My husband thinks he played volleyball with Brian a few years back..... I got to remember to ask Brian bout it... can be a small world, huh?
