octo requirements

I was just wondering what you need to set up an octo tank. Right now I have a 10 gallon I might want to put one in.

I don't have a ton of experience with them but when I looked into getting one, these were the best two sites in my opinion

10 is going to be too small to keep an octo easily.... start by aiming for a much larger tank... some people have kept dwarfs in 10s but then they are wild caught, mostly nocturnal, hide away, short lived and not the best species to enjoy as a pet.

Think bigger and get a captive bred bimac if you can to start with
