October meeting, UCO on the 14th at 7.30

next meeting will be held at UCO at 7.30.

I am hoping we will get to look at some modified MJ 1200 and 900 units as well as comparing these with Tunzes and seios.

We will be looking at MJ-Mods.

This is a way to turn an ordinary maxijet into a more powerful powerhead. We have 4 individual kits. TimV will be making one before the meeting and demonstrating how to make another. These together, with the other two kits will be given away as door prizes at the meeting.

In addition we will compare the flow from the modified maxijets with the unmodified Mj powerhead, a seio and a tunze.

Nick (Nix-tank) will hopefully be able to show a kit he put together using locally obtained parts.

Way cool - do we have SEIO and Tunze powerheads to show off? Also, it's a shame that the new Tunze Nanostreams are not out yet as they would be a nice demo as well...

I have been in contact with a place in which I can get most of my parts.

I am still trying to track down a piece or two, but I think that I will be able to get them.

i have one of the other mods available, it has a shroud and a drill type impellor. Looks like one of those big bits they use to drill telephone poles. I am not using it at the moment. If anyone wants to take it to the meeting. I will not be able to attend, but if anyone wants to demo it that would be fine

its an awesome kit, and its only 20 bucks, as i recall

OK.....so i lied.

Tim has built one of the Mj mods and it works a treat. However, each mod needs to be built to fit that exact MJ1200 or 900. So.....we would also be giving away a mj 1200 with the mods he is making.

Since that runs to approx $40 per unit we will be giving away TWO complete MJ1200 with assembled mods at this meeting.

The other two complete units will comprise part of the january membership drive/give away.

Sounds good. As nice as all that is, would it be a good idea to add one of those to the COMAS tank?

that tank already has a bunch of donated powerheads in it.

Thats not to say we couldnt get more and mod them.
