im gonna have my sump ready to go this weekend. i bought a used octopus 110 and was wondering if anyone else useing this what depth water dos it work best at for dialing in. the direction say anywhere from 6-10 inch but just hopen others could give me somthing a litle more specific!

I would go right in the middle, around 8" I use the Octopus NWB 200..Both the 110 and the 200 are very giving in dialing them in..These skimmers are work horses :)

awsome and thank you for the answer. ill start right at 8". im new to skimmers and sence you have one similar to mine how do i want this skimmer looking to be most efficient. for example do i want lots of litle bubbles, or lots of larger bubbles. also do you set them to the lip of the fill cup or below the lip? any other trick of the trade for skimming i would be happy to hear!

I keep my bubbles that go up to ,just a tad over where the collection cup connects to the skimmer..Thats a pretty "dry" set up..That way I get a very black skimate over a week, but my system is around 260g all together and packed with fish and coral (hi bio load)

You can run it a little more "wet" where the bubbles just reach halfway point of the cup and large bubbles spill over a bit, but when dialing it in I wouldent..I find my skimmer works best like this. But it's easy for it to cause a problem if for some reason the bio loud jumps from any reason its easy to make a mess of your tank or worse your floor..
