octopus climbs out of tank to eat goldfish video

you see that only happens if you have a couple of octos together.. You need one to use the steering wheel and another to operate the pedals.

"you see that only happens if you have a couple of octos together.. You need one to use the steering wheel and another to operate the pedals."

God how stupid can you get?!?!?!

You don't need two octopuses to do that! They have EIGHT appendages. God i swear!

i have heard many stories similar to that and i also watched my octo climb from my tank to another about 3 feet away on the same bar grab a few red leg hermits and go back to her own tank i was trying to capture it on video but discoverd that she had eegs and now she wont come out from under a rock been there about 2 weeks now...

The Vancouver Aquarium used to have problems with their giant octo giving himself "leisure time" at night, but they never knew it was him. Apparently they underestimated just how small a gap they can squeeze through, because fish and crustaceans were forever disappearing from other displays. Finally, one night, a maintenance worker saw him strolling across the floor (in the big area behind all the displays where you have access to a lot of the systems).. I think the story goes he was carrying a crab back to his tank with him (maybe he just saw him go to another tank and then come back) and next morning, more missing livestock and a perfectly innocent-looking octo.

About a week later there was a welded steel mesh door bolted over his display. No more mysterious disappearances.

I've also heard about the documentary with the jar opening octo, but never seen it myself. Apparently they tossed a shrimp in a sealed jar into an octo's tank and he banged it around and got frustrated, then they wheeled in a tank with another octo and did the same, only this one knew how to open the jar. Once the first octo saw the other one open the jar he immediately grabbed his own and opened up the lid.

Pretty incredible. Makes me alternately want one and not want to keep captive such a brilliant creature. :)

i saw the video of him opening the jar...it was pretty cool..not much to describe. Just went on top of it and opened it and ate the things inside

I saw a octo at the cleveland zoo do the jar trick, He must have been doing it for awile because it took him no time to open the jar for his snack

Theres a lady who claim her octo, climbs out at night and eats her cats food below the stand. I am very interested in theese guys, I am still new to the hobby only been in Sw for a year now but have always wanted a Ceph. But im am not certain on how hard they are to keep and all the responsibilitys that come with them.

Yeah... um... the people that have BRO's are really crazy then lol, you make the oct mad at you and it climbs out of it's tank and bites you in your sleep. :O

That story was crazy. Do they know how it survived in the lake? That would be a sight to see someone catch an octopus in their lake.

so whats that guy doing with it the story says it was alive when he found it. so whats he doing walking around with it...taking it home to throw in his swimming pool?
