Octopus DNW-150 fit 7x12" footprint?

I have a 7x12" footprint (36" height) for a skimmer, and was wondering if you knew if the octopus DNW 150 will fit? I see it says 7x15, but maybe if I angle it etc?

Hi,

Unfortunately there is no way to get it into a 7" x 12" area. If you angle it at all the bottom plate is going to take even more room then than if it were setting squared up with the sump.

Do you think you could set it external to your sump?

Thanks,
Jeremy

hi jeremy, thanks for trying =)

There is a possibility of setting it up externally, I'll have to do some more problem solving though...

thanks!!

On another note, what size tank is this going on? You can get a EuroReef RS080 on promo that would go in sump that you could make fit by setting it a little "sideways".

The RS080 would out perform the NW150, and hang neck and neck with the 150 recirc.

Price on that unit right now is $178.95.

Thanks,
Jeremy

hi jeremy,
I guess I can ask you for recommendations then. I havea 68g tank, with a 30g sump that only has a 7x12" skimmer chamber (what was I thinking?). Would the RS 80 be able to keep up?

The funny thing is, the sump has a fuge that can hold a 10x24" footprint skimmer... maybe I'll just put a big skimmer in there!

I was also thinking of a tunze 9010, since that guy will fit easily anywhere, though it's pretty pricey and may be overkill.

Thanks for your patience with me =)

For that size tank I think the RS080 would be perfect for that. If you felt like you need to go bigger you could always go up to an RS100. The RS100 would DEFINITELY be more than what you would need though in my opinion, even if it was full blown sps where you were trying to get as extremely low nutrients as possible.

Thanks,
Jeremy

cool! what's the footprint on the RS100?

This will be a full blown SPS tank =) hopefully at least
