Hi there, first time here. I have one question. I started to learn things about Cephalopods in aquas, well i like octopus. In portugal the most seen octo is the Octopus Vulgaris. Recently i caught one, about 6 cm. Small. And i like to keep him in captive. So i'd like to know the specs of an octo aqua. pH, temp, alguae, bottom, all. Thank you.

Just one more thing, what is the common aqua for octos? 30 gallon? or for mi house an aqua with 8,5 gallon is good.

Thankz once more.

There are a lot of good posts here about keeping an octopus and although it can take a wee bit of time you should read some of the back posts, its mostly all covered.

If it is Octopus vulgaris you are seeing then think more of a 100 gal+ tank for them as they get pretty big!

pH 8 - 8.4
temp (for vulgaris) 60 - 75 degF max
substrate - just a fine covering of sand.

you will also need a really good filter and skimmer along with a good tight lid!!!
