depends on the species....o. bimaculoides requires about a 50 gallon tank. o. vulgaris would definitely require a larger one. any tank will do as long as you seal it, as octopuses are grand escape artists. keep in mind that they are able to fit through any opening as small as their beak. good luck!
i'm not sure what kind it was but i got it from some web site on the internet.but he did perfect he was very small as big as a adult black widow.we hand fed him
I'm pretty sure a 10 gal. is big enough for many pigmy types, although a 30 is much better. I have 37 # of live rock and a dark beer bottle in a 24 nano for mine. It gives it lots of places to hide and hunt. Although the blue fin damsel I thought it would eat constantly harrases it.
