Octozin for use in reef?

Haggis Catcher

Hi, One of my fish has developed white spots on its fins and body and is flashing with increased Gill beat, I initially thought that the fish was strong enough to deal with this on its own and it appeared to recover, now the spots are back. The waterlife website says octozin can be used if invertabrates are present. I dont have a hospital tank so will somehow have to treat in the nano.

The other clownfish in the tank appears healthy.

Any tips on sorting this? Any help or advice appreciated

It's use is for internal disease, it sounds more like you have an external parasite probably ich or velvet. You may want to reconsider your treatment. There are stickies on the top that go into detail of what ich and velvet and other parasites are. Either that or a picture would also be helpful to diagnose your situation. Unfortunately, there are no effective reef-safe cures for these diseases. Copper, Hypo are the only proven methods with others falling into the semi-effective to useless categories.

Thanks for the reply Paul, much appreciated. I will research further into ich. The problem I have is that I dont have the QT tank for marine, and TBH dont think I could catch the gramma anyway!

I have noticed that feeding garlic seems to help and the spots lessen, but when I stop with the garlic flake or feed anything else, the spots come back with avengance.

I find it strange that the clownfish has no symptoms either?
