Odd behavior..... (pic)

I recently got some AOG's from another reefer to put in my new 14 gallon nano. These were the first addition to this tank besides one damsel. Right when I put them in they seemed to be fine, until my small damsel started to pick at them. He did this for a couple seconds and then left. I think he was eating the algae on the plugs.
After a couple days closed I decided to cover them up with a plastic cup and they opened up withing minutes. I let them hang for a couple days and decided to remove the cup. They closed up immediately and stayed that way for a day. Yesterday I put the cup back on and they opened up right away. I thought this was strange.....

Some possible answers?
Lighting - My first thought would be lighting but they came from a tank with 150 watt MH and I run a 70 watt MH.
Flow - My next thought was flow. Maybe they are getting to much flow but all I have is my small return pump. (no powerheads)

So it must mean they just like the cool blue house.

They close up as they are getting used to your tank lighting ( even though they originally came from a tank that had stronger lighting ), also getting used to your tank parameters ( flow, water parameters etc. )

Btw- JMHO, I hate damsels, their little devil fin nipper territorial bastards... which is why I prefer Chromis to them less boistrous fish.

I hate damsels also. I used him to cycle my tank.
Hes a little guy but off he goes to the fish store!

if you can catch him...

Haha ya.

IF i was a rookie it would be a problem. ;)

Theirs a easy but dangerous way to catch him and any fish but risk to high for the tank inhabitants.... I won't say cause I don't recommend it.
