odd color hammer help

I'm not really sure what color this could be. Peach maybe?

I'd say rhymes with peach, bleach. Looks like a pretty faded coral to me.

Its not bleached. I do know that much.

Could be an orange one, maybe bleached orange one. Although it looks a lot like a small "orange hammer" frag I bought last year. It is now super bright green with pinkish purple tips.....

Second vote for bleached.

Because it was in a frag tank and was the only one looking like that. Why would it be the only frag that had a problem?

The one I bought was there for 2 months before I bought it, surrounded by several normal looking green ones, so I figured it would stay that color. It took mine like 3 months to color up, and is now one of the brightest hammers I have seen.

Put under some good light itll color up

I don't think I ever saw a hammer bleached. They just seem to die with no change of color. It is funny how every time someone shows a light colored Corel, it is automatically called bleached because that is what they heard before.

Actually no, many people have experience in this hobby and know what a bleached coral looks like. I've seen plenty of bleached corals before and that looks pretty near bleached to me. If it was a healthy orange hammer coral the tentacles would be a rich brown, and have peach tentacles that weren't so translucent.

I put it up higher in the tank for a while and it started to turn purple with light green tips. It is now down by my frogspawn. Since I added a torch, I had to do a little rearranging.

Month and a half later, still pretty light colored. Any ideas?

move it into higher light... you said when you had it higher up it started to color up... theres your awnser

And I just moved it a few days ago, therefore it has been in higher light for over a month.The color is no different then before I moved it back down,plus it is sitting next to my frogspawn which has been in the same level of the tank since I bought it . Ty though. I'm going with purple, thats what it looks like as it is closing. Never home to see it as its closing.

I have one just like it.its been that color for over 4 years.
