Hey all

So I was just fixing a colony SPS that had fallen over and checked out one of my frags.

Looks like it has little white spots of fungus growing on it.

Any thoughts? I have seen this on another SPS as well.. just in two spots only

Any help would be great!

Is this the only one affected? Also have you swished it around In a small container to see if it comes off? It almost looks like the Sps filaments are out and it looks like fungus. Maybe a crab was climbing on it? You could try dippin it in revive as it's supposed to remove and condition corals.

This one and another SPS. Just looks like a white little fungus on the tips or sides.. very white. Not bugs or anything..

To you have hermit crabs ?

Yes I do. But this frag was on a frag rack at the top of my tank, no crabs could could also get it.

I also see it on two other corals. These other two are the same colony that I broke apart. It looks like the white fungus is coming from the polyps.

I rinsed these two sps corals in revive last night, we will see how they look later today.

Ok how did it go?

How did this turn out? I'm finding the same thing. I have a thread I which I'm the only one responding entitled what is this. I'm debating on a hydrogen peroxide dip of 25%,bifuron II, or red slime remover. The last two share a chemical that is supposed to help with fungus. Any thoughts?

I would agree with mesenterial filaments, as in the other thread.

Yes but the filaments come out of the holes on the coralites right? Mine are on the the tips of the coralites and other places on the body of the coral that are solid with no holes for filaments. I have seen the filaments and they are stringy these are different. I guess these pics aren't worth a thousand words lol.
