odd growth

There are odd growths on the stem of my trumpet coral. I took several photos of it, but they are too small for my camera to capture. The best way I can describe them is what looks like a very, very small bowl shaped growth. The color is brown and the texture seems to be jelly-like. So far, internet searches have turned up nothing. Any help with this is appriciated.

Sounds like brown jelly disease, common for lps. Salvage as much of the coral as you can and discard the coral with jelly on it or it will spread and wipe out the whole coral ( maybe even some other neighbouring corals ).
