Oddity on Candy Cane

Hello all!

This morning I was examining a new candy cane I just got from a LFS. I dipped it with coral RX last night and this morning I am seeing something small burrowed into one of the heads that is popping in and out like a feather duster. https://youtu.be/BC7h4G54Kvs

Thoughts on what it is?

Barnacle. Many LPS corals have barnacle between their polyps. It is safe, but they tend to not do very well in captivity.

IT's feeding in the water column so your probably fine. You could always scape it and put glue over the hole if it really bugs you.

Thank you both for the reply. After doing some GoogleFu, I agree with Tripod's diagnosis, it is indeed a barnacle. I will let it live it's life since it won't harm anything!

Thank you!
