odessy T5 ho fixtures?

Can anyone tell me if these are any good? They are so much cheaper than other brands. I have used the odessy compact Fl. and found that though they are not as well made as other brands, they are adequate and worth what you pay for them.

So has anyone had major issues with the T5s

i'd never liked oddyssea stuff, had a fixture from them for a week and 1 of the metal halide lights shorted. if you're looking for lights, go for a good one the first time around and avoid upgrading later on. i am planning on buying two lumen bright MH fixtures. they offers tons of pars.

+1 I wouldn't go any cheaper than Nova

i have an odyssea 48" 4xt5 2x 250w MH and i absolutely love it,
there half the price of most other comparable fixtures

don't let these people who aren't speaking from experience scare you off,

i would check out reefgeek.com. If you want to get a cheaper light, get a used one. Now luckily the cheap light i bought didnt catch on fire, but i read many stories about the same light i had doing just that. You really gotta be careful when going cheap in this hobby. A newby mistake i learned a few times.

they have changed design since those few fires happend, i haven't found any bad reviews in recent times of people who actually use them
