I got there 20 inch light fixture for my 10 g tank . Saw a lot of mix reviews but kinda old a few years back ... What do you guys think about them ?

I doubt most peoples feelings on them have changed much.

While I've never owned one, my personal feeling is that since they have been known to be fire hazards, they should be avoided. I don't care how much money I would save - it is simply not worth the risk to my family, my home and my animals. Safety should be everyone's number one priority. We're taking enough chances as it is with highly conductive saltwater and tons of electric components - no need to add a new hazard to the mix.

What would be a decent light ? I was looking into the par 38 lights

A couple full spectrum par 38s on a 10g would be perfect.

FWIW I have had an odysea MH (3-175w MH 2-120w atinic pc +moonlights) for about 8 yrs now and the only thing that i have done to it besides change bulbs (stock ones are junk) is the pc ballast burned out after about 3 years and had to be replaced. switching to the reefbreeders LED's today as soon as they arrive

I have 3 of their T5 lights and have not had any major issues with them at all. I would not use them to run a reef tank but for fresh water and other things they are great.

I have the 4x18w t5 over my 10 gallon and its doing great. not the greatest light I'm sure but I couldn't justify spending hundreds on my first tank let alone a 10 gallon. The only complaint I have is the bulb selection. Overall I'm happy with the light but I'm upgrading to the reef breeders led when i get my 20 gallon long finished

I have the 4 bulb T5HO, staggered 50" 80w bulbs in a 72" housing, running Giesemenn bulbs. Have had a capacitor blow two times leaving the ballasts useless.

I've had the 4 bulb 20in for 8 months and so far no problem and great growth on all my corals

Using one on my 55 recommended by my LFS owner who I now distrust when it comes to his "expertise". So far no problems except the moonlights burned out - no great loss - and the corals are growing nicely including SPS. Cyano is troubling me at the moment probably due to phosphates. I like to feed the fish! Newbie problem.

I run a 72 3x250 halide and 4 80 watt t5... No complaints.. Changed all tje junk bulbs... And eventually changed out ballasts

I got mines running for two days now mushroom and button polyps seem to like it but due to the bad reviews I distrust them and just turn them on while I'm home .
