It seems that the US - Mint and I are not on the best of terms.
I recently ordered a 2006 Silver proofset.
I received in the mail the 2005 Silver proof - Which I already bought last year.
I sent it back.
They received it.
They did not understand the note the I had written that I was shipped the 2005 by mistake, and I wanted the 2006, And so...
The just sent me the confirmation that my 2005 Silver Proof Set was shipped at 9pm tonight.
Is anyone interested, cost was 37.95, I will not charge shipping... it is new. and will be unopened. I have already paid 11.00 to ship these back and forth... if no one wants this, I will be forced to ship it back.
AGAIN.
It is listed on the US MINT site as:
1. 2005 11-COIN SILVER PROOF SET (V50) Qty : 1
and could be viewed at:
http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...ctId=10648&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=10053
Local coin stores sell this set for more than 40$ - I know because I used to buy them there... and proly will again next year so it's not screwed up.
None of this means a hill of beans though if your not a collector in some small fashion. Silver proofs are both better quality and of course made with true silver, where as regular proofs are simply cherry picked regular coins prior to circulation. The silvers are FAR more detailed and clean and clear.
If you or someone you know is interested, please call me, otherwise on friday, it get's sent back for a 3rd trip around the world.
