Off topic Wanted 78/79 Trans Am

Oh, I didn't think of my photobucket album Jim. I just got the Cobra. Puts around 525 hp to the rear wheels. I has much more than just a supercharger , he he ;)

I never followed Pontiacs all that close, but I would guess the GTO's heads should be big valves and such. The combustion chambers might be different, but if the pistons have not been changed in your motor I'm betting it will be a low compression engine. I did a quick Google search and one source said they were 8.0:1 from the factory.

If you did much of anything to it engine wise, I'm betting the 650 carb might be a little bit small. A carb 850 might be a better choice :D

What year is your Cobra? 525 wheel HP is a monster!
 
It's an 04. Touted by many as the fastest production car made (without being an exotic such as a lamborghini, Ferrari, etc). Even a Z06 Corvette isn't as quick as mine. I know its' more power than what I need. I'm just going to drive it on weekends. It will never see rain, would be dangerous on wet road. Go to youtube and search 2004 Cobra and you'll see what kind of performance they give.
 
Did the Cobra lose performance during the following years? A Z06 is pretty hot, any car that could keep near it is respectable. Any car that can outrun it is down right FAST.
 
04 was the last year the COBRA was made, till they made the SHELBY COBRA's, which are equally as powerful, yet they are heavier than the one I have and ridiculously overpriced. Ford didn't make a COBRA in 05,06 or 07. All the previous year COBRA's weren't supercharged from factory.

I bought my car with all the goodies already done to it. It is the first SC car I have ever had.

I've never ran my car, not into all that. But the guy I got it from ran an 11.2 in quarter mile. Pretty good I guess.

Sorry about the derail Jim. How's the interior look in the car? The body looks to be in great shape. Is it auto or stick? Nonetheless it's a great find.
 
Thats pretty sweet! The interior is redone w/ new seats, carpet, headliner...... and its a factory 4speed . Its lots of fun to drive.
 
In all seriousness, I got to see this thing Friday, and man is it a nice car. Engine is incredible, paint is brown but still cool I was impressed with it. Yep, it needs a CB, a white one I think LOL
 
LOL I'll get around to re doing it eventually, I got some great ideas after it was finished, gota have the CB in your hand at least.
