Officially time to get out...High end 40 breeder SPS reef

So, I had a round of interviews last week for a new job in Philadelphia, and it looks promising that Ill have a job in the next few weeks. Regardless, my wife and I have decided to move in June, six or so weeks after the baby is born, so that she and the baby have some time to recover.

My wife has agreed that we can pack up the tank hardware and take it with us, however, I know that it will be a pain, and something will get broken getting shipped across the country, and it will be expensive...so I am offering the tank for sale.

The thread below shows the tank in its early stages, as well as recent pictures - Ill include some pics below as well.
http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1794562

The tank is a glass 40 breeder - its on a dark "expresso" stained stand. The tank is drilled and has a center overflow and two returns one on each side of the tank.

20g sump split into 3 compartments, skimmer, return, and fuge.
The pumps include a Mag 9 for return through a SCWD as well as a Mag 7.5 for the chiller and the frag tank.

In tank movement is 2 modded tunze 6025's and two modded Koralia 2's.

The tank is lit by a 4x39 T5 TEK fixture, with legs. Its been a great little light for the tank - the bulbs are 12 months old and will need to be replaced soon.

The skimmer is a corallife super skimmer 65 - its actually one of the most consistent skimmers I have ever owned...why pay more when this works!

The calcium reactor is a RK2 reactor, with bubble counter, full of CA and MG media, 5 lb CO2 tank with a regulator, and solenoid. Spare 5g tank as well.

The computer is a Neptune ACIII pro - with PH, ORP and temp probes, DC8 and DC4 HD.

Top off is Tunze osmolator with a CA container - (this is a cheep Kalk reactor essentially).

Chiller is a 1/10th flow through chiller, and fits in the frag tank stand.

Fuge light is a simple PC bulb on a clip.

There is an attached frag tank built by Gen of Kritter tanks - and includes a stand and hood. The frag tank is light by a 4x24 VHO T5 with an ICE Cap 660 ballast. The tank measures 18x18x10 (I think), and is 1/2" acrylic with rounded edges. It holds approximately 75+ frags.

Water movement in the frag tank is two sure flow maxi-mods, controlled by the ACIII Pro to on/off every 40 minutes or so.

Livestock:
pair of very mature ocellaris clownfish, a blue regal tang, and a spawning trio of Royal Gramma. In the frag tank is a pair of P. Flavivertex - sunrise dottybacks and a neon goby. There is a pistol shrimp who lost his Yasha goby some time ago. Various snails, and crabs as well.

The tank is massively overgrown with SPS- you could likely make hundreds of frags off this system, and I recognize that the tank may be hard to move without breaking some of these really nice colonies.
Corals include:
Forest fire digitata
pink digitata
green digitata
purple digitata
10 kinds of Zoanthids - nuclear green, purple death, pink palys, Kvosstra's Blue oragazims, keds reds, false PPE's, etc.
ATL cherry bomb
Tyree-bali -tri color
orange cap
pink polyp cap
ORA blue millepora
Raspberry prostrata
Steve Elias Stag
Leng Sy Cap
Sunset Monti
Poker Star Monti
Rainbow monti
Pink Lemonade
Surf N' Turn
Unknown Tri-color acro
Teal gomezi
ORA green spongodes
Rainbow yuma
Blue ricordia Florida
Pink ricordia Florida
unknown encrusting monti
green M. Undata

I admit that some of the colonies will be fragged in the next week or two, since I am shipping some corals to Philadelphia so that I can re-start my reef with many of my corals again in the future. However, you will have a mature reef for sure!

As for price...its hard to put a number on the value of this tank. Its a 4+ year old mature reef. At this time I am selling the whole setup for $6500. Yes it seems like a lot, but essentially you are getting numerous colonies of very high end SPS corals, as well as top notch parts.

With the tank will come all the extra goodies as well, extra pumps, test kits, Kalk, etc...Its like a garage full of things!

If the tank does not sell as a single piece, I will be willing to sell ONLY the livestock, and I WILL NOT part out the hardware, instead it will move with me. Livestock will be $5000 for everything. otherwise I will begin selling piecewise. The trio of grammas and pair of Pseudos are pending to Fingerwrinkles at this time, if the tank is not sold a complete set-up.

Here are some recent photos of the tank.

Please post here or PM me for questions regarding the tank and/or livestock if you have any questions. We will be moving in June, so I have some time to find a good home for my friends!

From the pics, it looks like you have a cleaner shrimp. I'll take him if you part out.

next in line for the shrimp :D

So sorry to hear that you are leaving the Bay Area, Kyle. I was hoping to see "Kvosstra Ocean" in 2012...:(

Sure! He's a super rare skunk Cleaner shrimp! I want $500 for him! Just Kidding...

But really, in that whole thing, you want the cleaner shrimp? They're like $10 at the LFS...

You have a lot of sweet stuff Kyle, but I'm currently in "just maintenance" mode for my tank.

I had two 3-yr old shrimps and I lost one to Interceptor and the other one was eaten by my mystery wrasse (I can't prove it, but he had motive and I can place him at the scene). The kinds you see in LFS are the tiny, and I always prefer to buy other reefer's livestock. Best of all, my wife missed the shrimps, so I plan keeping a couple in the fuge.

Hey Kyle. I'm not sure if I should say congrats, or sorry to hear it....maybe both? If you do end up parting, I might be interested in the P. Flavivertex pair and the pistol.

Kyle, the Tyree LE Bazooka Joe I bought from you is looking great. Thanks and good luck!

So glad to hear!

Me too Andy...next tank - just probably in another city. I'm hoping to go big next, but need to make sure I have the time for the tank, as well as the cash to pay at least a monthly service. I wont do a large tank again until I can have someone help service the tank, or, what I mean is that I only have wife approval once I have a service clean the tank for a large tank.

Totally understand! He's actually not that big, as cleaners go. You're 1st in line if we part.

Mitch, change is good...but the P. Flavivertex are pending to Robin already if the tank does not sell. Pistol is all yours, if we can find him.

Best,
-Kyle

Whoops, sorry Kyle. Totally skipped over that part. Well put me in line for either the trio or the pair if she decides not to take them. As for the pistol....I'll take it if I end up with a fish, otherwise might be easier for someone else to take them if anyone pipes up.

NOOOOO! I'm sorry to see you leaving the bay area. A real bummer. Are you gonna set up a new tank over in Philly?

Dibs on the M5! sad to hear that you are leaving. Thanks you for helping me start up my tank with the cool rocks. I'd love one of the grammas if you don't sell them as a trio. I fear that the digitatas would be way too much for me if you do part with them.

Kyle! Just part it out :P would be faster and less hassle for you

Congrats on your future and poor you for the future lost of sleep hehe

parting is a major hassle! Wife does not like it at all. we're excited about the baby, but what a change it will be!

No worries! Ill let you know if Robin does not take them.

hoping for a new tank...just depends on whether we buy or rent, jobs, baby, etc. Too many variables. Inevitably, ill have a tank up in the next year or two for sure, its whether I have one up in 3 months that is the real question.

Coming with me! No parting of hardware!!! Gramma's are going to go as a trio - cant split the nice breeding group, its too hard to re-do. I've got a few digi frags hanging around that you can probably try - shoot me a PM to discuss.s

...and the big news...

Tank and livestock is Pending sale all together! Ill post later if something changes.

Glad to hear :'( I'm so confused by this thread what is good and what's not good.

Selling all together is a VERY good thing!

If you are interested in either all the livestock, or the complete system, please send me a PM, just incase something falls through.

Best,
-Kyle

whoops! We've agreed to mutually rescind the purchase of the livestock - the purchaser found AEFW in his tank last night and does not want to lost all the new SPS. Rightly SO!

Ill frag tonight and take WYSIWYG images - Ill likely be shipping frag packs as well...

-Kyle
