Well, no need to go into real detail. Poor guy lost about 80% of his tent's :(. Went from about 12" across to about 4". Made a mees in and outside of the tank. Will he make it?

I was feeding him silversides every Saturday since I've had him, 4 or 5 weeks now. He looked very happy. I did a 10 gl wc right after I got home.

He has moved. I guess I would too if that happened to me. I'll get a pic tomorrow after work. I suppose it can't be any worse if I "split" him.

Thanks,
Jason

sounds like he has a really good chance, I wouldn't try to feed him until he looks better, I'll look for the pics tomorrow and good luck with him. In the mean time work on those powerheads and make sure they are covered.

This is a fairly close picture. Maybe 5" away.

For comparison, here is a pic of when I first got him. Pretty close to the same distance.

It looks really good. What does the mouth look like? Does it look normal? I really think it's going to make it. Be sure to keep the water clean.

Was you expecting something worse? ;)

His mouth looks OK. I had to use my baster to blast him a few times. He does have a few tent's stuck in it. What's up with that?

After a tragedy like this, would it split?

Should I try to keep the clown away from him now? Or is losing some tent's like trimming my finger nails?

Jason

more like loosing your fingers, or your arms, it's more serious than trimming your finger nails, but it does look good and it looks like it will be fine but it needs to heal.

As long as the clown isn't being to aggressive and the anemone is still looking good, I wouldn't do anything. I wouldn't say loosing tenticles is like triming fingernails, but I wouldn't be too concerned at this point. Its just the result of the injury.

Here is a really good website about BTA's is shows what some injuries look like and how to prevent some powerhead injuries.

I don't think this nem is a bta. There seems to be some verrucae on the underside, and if I remember right, bta's don't have these bumps.

As for what it could be, I don't think I could come up with something. Some members in the Heteractis and Macrodylactis (I don't know if I spelled that correctly) have verrucae, but colors and patterns vary.

Do know what kind of nem it is? If not, you may want to post a nem ID, that might help on caring for it at this point and give you an idea of how it may heal.

Good luck!
