Here we go another exotic Something that will be over priced like acans and micros (lets hope not) It is a beautiful pic I just called my coral guy to see if he could get them
I looked it up, here is the run down on it...it is in the faviidea family. Chris said it holds those colors really well. I managed to get a piece of this. I am looking forward to it.

I have a Barabattoia at home (I think... there is a species of Echinophyllia that superficially appears the same; Ive not checked out the skeleton).
It is a very hardy coral, surviving a long trip back home from IMAC last year, and acclimated very well. I will say that the color has changed Dramatically over time. The coral was originally a nice bright, multi tone green and has developed much more of a brown cast to it. It would need fairly blue lighting to maintain its color I think.
Great coral though; not a very fast grower, but it has an interesting texture to it.

.As promised, pictures upon arrival, this coral looks as good as the photo. I am not as good of a photographer as the folks at Reefer Madness but you get the idea. I could not be happier

I've only seen one coral that looks similar to that one. Both are hot looking faviids.

tacocat, Yea, I pretty much dropped my jaw when I saw it on the RM site, had to have it. The one you posted is mighty fine. I hope mine holds the color like that one...whose piece is that?? Right now mine is on the bottom 26" from lights getting medium flow. My lights are just 2x250w MH 14K phoenix bulbs that are at the end of their life...I will be replacing the bulbs in a few weeks and then replacing the whole fixture in May/June with the new Maristar 2x 250w DE MH/4x 54w T5 fixture. I'd really like this piece to hold the color or color up even more, We shall see. Very sweet piece.

That coral belongs to Ron Joncola of Reeftec Designs. You made a good choice by buying that coral from RM. Ron brought three frags to the BA-CFM, and sold two within the first hour, and John sold the last one in a few hours on his website.
Both of your corals look great, and I have only seen yellow eye faviids twice (yours and Ron's), so if I would have seen that on RM, I would have jumped on it. Most of the faviids seem to hold their color well.

It is a nice size piece, 9 full polyps and 4 or so 1/2 polyps along the sides. I wonder what the growth rate is for these guys, I'm thinking so-so. The colonies are ususally pretty massive according to Veron.
