Oh My Gosh

Lets all bow our heads in a moment of silence for my neighbor. He had a 48gal. mixed reef with all the fixens. He came over to my house a few minutes ago and told me that last night, his wife (who should be shot) was angree with him. He said they were fighting over the reef tank being so much of a finacial draw on there family. He told me that the tank was no trouble finacialy, that she just didn't like it because she was a (as she puts it) "pets with legs person". He went on to tell me that they were arguing that the tank had to go and he had to sell it or she was out the door for good.
He said he took it with a grain of "salt" like he always did before. He told her to calm down and everything would be alright and that she didn't have to look at it if she didn't want to.
He said he had to go to the bathroom, and when he came back she was sitting in front of the tank with an evil smile on her face. He looked in the tank and was blasted by the horror that he was watching.
His (should be shot) wife dumped an intire family size bottle of Clorox bleach into the tank. He yelled at her saying she was a psycho B***H.
All she said to him was this, "Wow the corals really look good now don't they honey?"
She went upstairs got her coat and left, he hasn't seen or heard from her since last night.
If you ask me she could stay gone for all care.

Re: Oh My Gosh

wow that is beyond bs. I'd sell every piece of her jewlery to pawn shops in town and file for a restraining order against her.
can't that also be deemed as cruelty to animals?

Sounds like my wife when she saw my credit card bill today. Although she didn't go that far but said she'd put a hammer through it if I spend anymore on the tank.

My wife and I were discussing this week about her having her start her own tank in the future, once we move into a house.

Of course next week she may change her mind and hate the idea.

I can't imagine try to have a reef tank without my wife's support. It really could cause some problems.

Not super surprising. Woman do some crazy things when they feel neglected...believe me :P. Luckly my wife loves our tank, but she does realize the major financial burden that it is. She just wants to enjoy it and doesnt want to put any effort into it whatsoever. I hope to God she would never do that though no matter how mad she got.

As for the corals, they dont feel pain guys. They dont have a brain. As for the fish, and other critters, thats a different story.

Very mean thing to do either way though, both to the guy and to the inhabitants.

Well, hopefully he gets in worked out and can start again(with the tank I mean not the wife) It is a sad thing for everyone and everything involved.

Don't take that wrong of course. I hate to see anyone's marriage like that, hopefully things turn out for the best with that as well. Whatever that mean.

Your friend should dump her before he does something stupid like have kids with her.

this needs repeating...

Some light at the end of the dark tunnel of tragedy. He came over later last night and told me that his fuge had been turned off for doseing, and that the inhabs of the fuge are all still there. He got to it and unplugged it before the timmer kicked it back on. Struck with a little luck there I guess? I didn't know you turn your fuge off to dose, maybe I am just not schooled enough.

Maybe this lady read that story and got some ideas. It's nuts how far someone will go to get their way. He is gonna have her charged and a restraining order put on her. She finally came back to the home today and tried to say she was sorry for the whole mess and she wanted to make it up to him. He told her to get the hell out and to never show her face there again. Koodos to him.
