oh no. lil red buggy things killing my clams

I've got a bunch o clams. Now most are perishing. I dissected a dying one and found some lil brownish type bug moving . The foot looks shredded and mantle shrinking. I'm searching still. Any ideas would be helpful.

I'll try and take picture tomorrow. All my perams are ideal. I have moved the clams from one tank to another thinking it could be a rock hitchhiker but they are all biting the dust.

as I said. The foot is shredded and turns brown and disintegrating. I also dipped then in RO water for 30 minutes.

don't dip them till we find out what is wrong, a FWD may do nothing and can be stressful, possibly push a troubled clam over the edge.

4 more gone. This is painful. I'll have a pic tonight. I cant find any info. I think I'll call ORA Monday. No dips.

without a pic it is very tough to say but lets try a few questions....


can you list your fish / inverts?

and water parameters?

anything you dose?

have you looked for pyramid snails?

here's one foot

I have several tanks in which separate clams have been in for months. one tank includes:

Sohal
Purple
2 Hippo
small Broomtail Wrasse
6 line
Leopard wrasse

I have inspected every clam and have not seen any Pyramid snail or any other external visual predator.

Other tank includes:

Purple
Yellow
Red Breasted Wrasse
Medium Broomtail Wrasse
no inverts naturally

125 gallons each tank with 2 400w radium SE bulbs
Both tanks include:

Moon coral
zoo's
Duncans
leathers
shrooms
Mussids
Torches
Acans

Everyone healthy

I collect NSW from a jetty on an incoming tide and do 30% water changes every 2 to 3 weeks
I dose Natureef 2 part 3 times a week

I also have some clams that are healthy in the same tank but it seems to spredding
