Oh sad day....

I know that it is unlikely, but some how my mind keeps coning back to an ammonia spike. Maybe from the new sand? was the water the rocks were in circulating with a power head? Did you monitor Ammonia after restarting?

Would new, dry sand have anything that could lead to a spike?

As for rocks, because they either had corals or fish, I made sure to keep the rocks fully submerged and water circulating.

My ammonia and nitrites have been at 0 since I refilled my tank

Mini Cycle, you just can't upset a tank like that and expect nothing to happen.
The odd thing is that things started dying about a month and a half after I refilled. If I had a mini cycle, wouldn't it have been sooner?

Another question. If it was a mini cycle, is it 'normal' to lose that many fish within 3-4 days?

The main aspect that concerns me is that all the fish that died weren't showing signs of lethargy or loss of appetite. They were all aggressively eating, and very active (not flashing against rocks or simply lying on sandbed) the day before I found them dead.

No, First thing is your tank was only 6 months old, barely stable. Then the disruption and cycle and stability changed. Let things settle and do some water changes and wait out another 2 months.

With a six week gap from refilling to mortality, it seems likely you had a parasite. Without more information, it would be difficult to figure out which one.

Did you loose coral? had a power outage? dosed something?

I had 2 ich outbreak, fishs died about once par day but I saw thr spots
