Ive had cyno for 2 months now and cant ix this problem, so I resorted to chemiclean and it did nothing at all if anything it got worse. Has anybody used this and had the problem got better?

If I cant fix this Im going to get rid of the corals. It seems every time I feed phyto it gets worse. WHY? somebody please help.

I have a moon brain and a rock with 4 srooms on it the guy I bought it from said to feed them phyto. Why is this wrong?

If the cyano is bad it will take two treatments. I followed directions and after 3 or 4 days, it started going away.

Addressing the cause is the hard part. Plenty of threads on here on how to do that.

too many nutrients in the tank and nothing to consume them . if you have fish in there i would assume they would be enough to keep youre corals happy , providing you have efficient lighting. i would discontinue the use of the phyto. what size tank do you have?

Ok I have a 30 gal with about 20 to 25 gal water should I treat it like a 30 or like 20? I have done 1 treatment so far and before I did the water change at 48 hours the algae was worse than ever.

For what you have in the tank I do not think it is necessary to feed phyto. I do this maybe every couple weeks and I have more corals in my tank than you have.

Tank is 30 gal I have 3 fish 2 clowns and 1 damsel also have 1 star 7 hermits and some snails. The fish will be enough to feed the corals? I dont think I have high nutrients for a few days after a water change my skimmer wont pick anything up. The lighting is efficient 192 watt but they are old I need to order some off the net but wallet was stolen and have to wait for new cards, I would buy localy but there 65 to 70 a bulb and only 35 off the net.

Well on the phyto I was feeding 1 tsp every week. How many corals do you have and what size tank? What do corals eat if you dont feed them?

i have a 60 gallon tank that has over 10 differ types of corals. everthing is growing great. i havent fed my corals anything since i set it up 2 yrs ago. i tried marine snow and stopped because i recieved a diatom breakout . im no scientist on what exactly the corals are eating but i do no that phyto stuff is completely not necessary

Ok thanks for advise. I did notice when I added it thats when my skimmer would pick stuff up even though I turned it off for a hour like the directions said. Now just have to remove the cyno. Dose anybody else have any experience with chemiclean? I'm also going to add a molly to help. Good idea or bad?

What kind of skimmer? What pumps are you using for circulation? I wouldn't think a teaspoon of Phyto would cause a cyano outbreak:confused:
How often are you doing water changes and how much?

The ChemiClean may get rid of the problem temporarily, but you need to make changes elsewhere to to get rid of it for good;)

BTW...Don't add any more fish...tank too small and it will only add to your algae problem

Skimmer is a sea clone (I know junk) I have 2 acuaclear 4000s at 369 gph each and a hob filter, I do a 5 to 10 gal change every week, and no I dont plan on adding anymore fish except a posibal molly to help clean, but if you think its too much I wont.

A better skimmer might help a lot. The phytoplankton can be useful for feeding various animals. What brand are you using and how much is being dosed? How much is being fed to the fish?
