Ok...i am lost (skimmer help)

I know that bubble king (whichever is that ultra-top-of-the-line-skimmer) has the most compact size / power ratio. Correct me if I am wrong!

I do not have a lot of experience with skimmers but I have owned 2 Euroreefs - a CS 6-1 and a RS 250 that I run now.

I am happy with both of their performance.

On a side note I find the skimmer debate threads funny but a bit on the annoying side. The next great thing/fad repeatedly gets recomended by everyone, even if they have never used one. Right now the vogue response in just about every skimmer thread is MSX. I am sure it is a fine skimmer and seems to have a great price point. A year or two ago nearly everyone recomended ASM due to the lower price point/lower material quality and a Euroreef knockoff in performance. Now if you even suggest an ASM to anyone you will sure be bashed in short order.

There are a lot of fine options that perform well and it is most important to size the skimmer to your needs and keep it in your budget. Do you need/want an external skimmer? In sump that is easy to use - plug and play ?

Right now the new skimmer choice of the real skimmer nerds are the conical designed skimmers. I cannot wait until the next great thing. Will MSX suggestions be eventually mocked in the future as well? Ok, I am finished rambling....:p

no i totally agree, i expected alot of people to recommend cone skimmers. Whatever new is the best right? I am leaning toward the octopus extreme, but where can i look at these MSX skimmers?

I'm in the same sort of bucket that PogoMonogo is in. The MSX200 sounds like a good buy. Is there an equivalent you can recommend that is about half the size physically?
...... MSX160 same pump 6'' diameter tube
