Ok, so who keeps buying the hybrids?

Normal powder blues and achilles tangs go fast on DD, it's not suprising the hybrids of them go even faster. I don't even have the tank to support one but have been drooling over the last couple.

They are quite hardy and feeds better than the "original" Powder Blue/Black...
I like the color more than the "original"

other hobbies hybrids are greatly frowned upon, discouraged, and outcast. i wonder why this one is different.

They are naturally occurring, and are not threatening the "pure" gene pools of captive brood stock, would be my guess. Comparing apples to oranges, really.

Hybrid apples and oranges are very popular too :D

I have always found them interesting. Maybe more pricey than I would like but I like the uniqueness and interesting colors.

Strange IMO about the objections to them since they are naturally occurring fish.

I agree, Not like they glow in the dark. Or do they? ;)

I have no objections just dont see the allure of them. But thats me. JMO

Are these hybrids generally calmer than full blooded powder blues? Do you think they'd get along with a pair of tinkeri butterflyfish in a 150?

I would say its a shot in the dark. It could maul em and be just as evil as most powder blues i have seen. It could be mello as well. I would not chance it with a tink pair.
