Ok soo have a lighting prob i think

I just talked to my LFS and they told me that with HO T5s im still going to have troubles keeping SPS unless there near the top of the tank and said to def stay with metal halides. On here i was told that i could keep SPS but wasnt told where. Is my LFS wrong and i can keep my sps anywhere in the tank as long as im running enough light. I was thinking of going 4 54 watts tubes on my 55g. 2 would be 15000k and 2 would be 6500k. Just once again wondering if im making the right choice going to T5.

So i was reading and i found this. 4- 54W T5HO bulbs are equivalent to to one 400W HPS or MH bulb. Does that mean that 4 54W bulbs will be more light then i currently have on my tank with 2 175 watt MHs.
