Well, I got a LTA and I have some questions.

I picked it up from a shop and after much reading I think it may be bleached, the base is pink, the tenticals are clear/opaque white and the tips are a dark purple.

---Is this sounding like an LTA or something else?

the anemone has been in the tank for a week and appears happy, I placed it in the tank and it immediately started moving and settled into a rock after 2 hours and hassnt moved since then.

It does have a feeding response and I have target fed it mysis shrimp and it eats it,

---I read that I should feed it silversides...how much and how often should I feed it?

---How can I help it comeback if it is indeed bleached?

p.s. the lighting is 250w 14k metal halide.

Can't ID w/out pic, and really need pic of base to be sure.
If it has attached and stayed that's a good sign.
Lighting is fine.
Best to leave it alone as much as poss, especially when new.
Mysis is fine, maybe try a half siverside once a week as well.
It will most likely recover from bleaching in time.

Sorry, here is a pic of the anemone, bad resolution...took on a camera phone.

Wow, that's just a little baby!
It does look just like my LTA when I first got mine.
Very bleached, but if it has attached and eating will most likely recover.
My LTA is VERY sensitive compared to my sebae.
If I touch it while siphoning, or a snail falls on it it quickly shrinks up and try's to hide, so that is why I suggest letting it be as much as poss.

do you have any pics of what a healthy one should look like?

I am hoping it will recover, we will see. how large do they get?

Condylactis species, likely an Atlantic specimen. They are not clown hosts, although some shrimp, crabs, and fish will naturally call them home. It should brown up a bit, but it is not uncommon for them to stay whitish under normal output flor lighting. Typically very inexpensive in the US and horribly shipped due to low cost/margin. Most are dead in a few months although they can live for many years.

Tomatos and Clarks clowns will frequently adopt them.

If you payed for a LTA then you got robbed. That is definitely a condy, going rate anywhere from $5-$18.
