Okay, just added Ritteri / Magnifica... Now what? What should I watch for?

You could start a thread asking H. mag keepers what spectrum lights they have. I recall Mirror pond has a very nice one he's had for years and it sits between a 10000K and a 20000K MH. I've kept mine under 6700k pc, 10000K pc, 10000K MH and now T-5 6-10000K.

Yep, but mine are 250w bulbs. I would check out that 175w 15k Iwasaki bulb. If I remember right, it has the most par of any 175w bulb and is not yellow.

Mine is a 250, too. Which bulb do you think I should get? I have a 20K SPS right now

Single ended? Mine has done very well under a XM 10k but it is a little on the yellow side if there is no supplementation. I use 20k's on the ends of my tank to compensate for the yellow of the 10k. I am going to try either the geissman 14.5k or the aquaconnect 14k bulb next time but they are both very expensive. I've never tried double ended bulbs before so I can't comment on them.

Yep, single ended. I have actinics on either side, but only one MH bulb in the center of the fixture.

It's doing well. Switched lighting to a 12K Reeflux. Here's my other question, though. Hopefully, someone can answer this.

The flow in the tank was getting very heavy for the other occupants. I have 3 Maxi 1200's - one on either side and one in the middle. They were originally pointing just above the tentacles of the Magnifica. I have now adjusted them to pointing toward the surface. Is this going to be a problem for the Mag? It's about 6 inches below the surface (the top of it is).

If it is getting good flow and the flow is random it should be fine. It will wander if the current isn't to its satisfaction.

im guessing you hav 2 diff onyx clowns?because the coloration between the 2 are diff

One I ordered from Rod and the other I bought from a local reef club member who said he bought his from Rod. I just figured the coloring was a little off because of age difference, lighting, different food, etc. Was I wrong?
