have a mantis in my rock that i noticed yesterdaybut seeing these posts kind amakes me want one as a pet, using a standad little plastic 10 gal with a fluval 104 hooked up could i sustain his life, it will of course have live sand and some rocks from my 92 gal frogfish tank to help filter and wutnot, i will use water directly from my tank and fill the tank up with ro water, would this work.

he is a smasher with a brown drab color

I think it would. Just keep it fed. I made the attempt to keep one in my reef and it went well for almost a year. Then it developed a taste for queen conch :eek1:

Species tanks are best for these guys.
