Okay please help lights are doen with

Okay don't know much about fish tanks and don't have much money. Here my delimia my 7ft odyssea light fixture with 2 36" 96 watt 12,000k lights burned out on thursday of last week.Now the 2 36" 96 watt actinic lights have burn out as well. Question is I have tried foster and smith and all these website no one sells odyssea light bulb replacements. So do you think if i buy thr coralife bulbs (as long as there the same lengeth watt and pin shape) they would work? Let me know before I go and spend $150.00 on lights to have them not work tHANK YOU GUYS IN ADVANCE

Are you sure its the lights not working and not the ballast(s)?

i know it the bulbs I borrowed a bulb from my brother and it ran perfect for the 2 hour dinner we had so its just time for new bulbs these bulbs have been in for 3 years

I would also think that most LFS here would let you return a bulb if it didnt work out. Just explain the situation to them and they should be pretty understanding.

Yeah I am trying to order them offline I have a gift card for foster and smith so I would like to get it from there

I see no reason why the same bulb size/pin combination wouldn't work. I know in my teklight fitting I can put ati, geismann, uvl etc in. Most t5s are 2 pin that you plop in and rotate (at least from my experience in the 48" size)

Yes it does and your trumphet coral doing great some in my nano tank and some in my 220. This light promblem in my fish only 120

:eek1: Bulbs usually have a MUCH shorter life span <1 year.

yeah three years is pretty good LOL

as others have stated you need to make sure the pin configuration is the same some are square shaped

I would order them from somewhere else if you want them to arrive working and unbroken. They are on thier 6th try at getting my bulbs here either non defective or in one piece. Great customer service, but evidently employing monkeys to do thier shipping.
