Here is a snail I am wondering about. It kind of looks like a Nassarius snail. It has a forked tail though and I am not sure what it is. I just want to make sure it's safe before I put it back in my tank. It was rolling around in the sand. Let me know. Thank you all.

It does appear to be some species of Nassarius, BUT that's hard to say for sure with the pictures. While they are pretty good, they don't really show what they need to. First, we need a clear shot of the opening of the shell with the critter retracted. Second, it would help if you could gently scrub a bit of the growth off of the shell so the sculpting shows better.
