That is a great question. I do not know. This guy is very deeply colored. Would make for a good study.

Any idea how old?
I imagine it was wild caught.
Concerning color change pertaining to age, what about color change per size? Does it show the same colors as when it was a newbie or was there a gradual fading or is it just as vibrant?
What about other Tridacnas, deresa and squamosas, does their color fade with size/time or just as vibrant?

He is farm raised. They told me approx 4 years old. The only color change that I have notice is with my old derasa (Scar) When I first got him he was a bright yellow/gold color. Over the years he is getting darker in color.
