Roger I am very happy that someone is repairing and backing Tunze equipment!!!! Thank you.

Background: I have 4 Tunze skimmers. 3 skimmers I would like to get rehabbedââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦one currently functionsââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦one is for sure hopelessly lost. 2 of the skimmer are the flat universal skimmers (maybe 231.85 models) thought they differ somewhat. One is a vertical skimmer ( I am sure it was an early Comline modelââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦ in the USââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦ the manual say 3130). The newer 3 were bought via J.P. Burleson (sp?). The other one predates those toolsââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦c.a. 1986 maybe earlier, it has an external pumpââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦I have scabbed so many part there isnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t much left of it.

Question: I have looked at the new ââ"šÂ¬Ã…"œspare partsââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ on the Tunze web site and very little matches up. My skimmers differ somewhat. What I would like to do is provide a more detailed explanation with pictures of parts that I need, with out wasting your time. What is the most efficient way to detail what I need?

Thank you for supporting this quality product,
Jon Gross

I would be very pleased to work on your skimmers. I have only ever refurbished one first generation Comline but I do have the parts to do it so it is no problem. Regarding the 215 skimmer with the air cooled motor, this is also repairable, it uses the 2002 motor and I have parts for the bodies I have bought second hand. This model was distributed by Aquarium Products in the late 80's. Odds are pretty good the other two are early model 230's and those shouldn't be too bad either if the motors are still good. A full restore to as close as new as possible on 4 skimmers will likely take me 1 week and cost $20 per skimmer plus parts but they will be sent back like new.

Please include all your contact info, sometimes they cost more to fix than it is worth so I would need to contact you once I determined what they need. If you have any bad motors in general it isn't worth fixing it if it is very old because the motor is generally half the cost. In the case of the 2002 though they have so many parts that they are more rebuildable and often at a lower expense. Even if you needed a full motor core it would be about $85.
