old sump out...new sump in

ok friends...Im getting a new sump and new skimmer. only problem is I dont want to empty my tank to put it in the stand. Anyone know of some good threads showing how folks went about doing this?? Im assuming they cut out a hole on one of the sides and slid out the old and in with the new. just wondering if they used some special technique or anything. any ideas??

Check out Melevs reef...he uses a leverage method with 2x4s and temp removed the center brace. you put it back when complete but certainly gives you access.

Cut open the side with a jigsaw & add a cabinet door.

my stand dosnt have a center brace.....my sump is too big to pull through the doors though.
