Oldude's new 400 gal tank build

Thanks for the compliments. I can't really take credit for much, they just grow like that.
Here's a couple of close ups while I continue to wait on my tank's glass.

Its like Christmas!

... I must have missed it, but are you going all T5s on the new tank now?
I am going with a mix of T5 & MH's. Should be pretty bright.

Greg,

Are you aware that TekLights are very mediocre fixtures because they lack active cooling? They make only 1/2 the Par of an equivalent length/# bulbs ATI PowerModul for instance. I know ATIs and other European T5 fixtures are pricey, but Aquactinics makes some fairly reasonable units that are actively cooled.

James
As you can see I decided on the TEK fixtures. I have heard many mixed reviews on both them & ATI. I really appreciate & value the input. I have fans that I will using to cool the T5's and I got a steal of a deal on the TEK's so that helped make my decision easier. I set one of the fixtures on top of my present display last night just to see how it looks and I was very impressed with both the brightness and the extra pop it gave. They will definately help with the WOW factor.
I have decided on the following bulbs:
2x aquamedic 10K
2x aquamedic "reef blue"
2x KZ Fiji purple

As I mentioned I am very impressed with the pop these gave and the depth penetration was much better than my MH's give. The corals I have on the sandbed lit up like they just got plugged in.

New tank glass seems to be taking forever but is making progress so things should be happening soon. In contrast to that it's been a busy year for my old display and always rewarding to receive recognition from other hobbyists around the globe. I'll share this most recent & final accolade with you before I tear it down.

Thanks I am a fan of a.hoeksemai as well.
Here's a few other pieces I like that I am also a fan of that are patiently awaiting their new reef home.:)

I think this just might be my new favorite as it keeps coloring up(at least for this week)

The new vortechs are giving this birdnest too much flow on the one side so there is less PE.
I'll be sure to keep that in mind when I position it in the new tank.

Greg keep note of the S/N on your Hammerhead and date of purchase. The stickers come off pretty easily, and you can't get any help from Reeflo without those pieces of information should anything go wrong. Just thought you might like to know since its happened to me 3 times already.

The stand is finally done and being delivered tomorrow evening so we're making some progress.
I am debating whether or not to add this plain Jane cap to the new tank???? Maybe if I set my smaller pink rim one on top it won't be so bad. Hopefully they grow together in a cool way.

Here is the pink rim.....I'll do a test and see how they get along.
