Oldude's new 400 gal tank build

UPDATE

UPDATE

Well I picked up a few more things I needed for the tank.
1st I got an overflow comb. Egg crate has too large of holes for my liking.

2nd is my return pump.....Reeflow DART

3rd is my impulse buy of the day......4 groovy anthias. I've wanted a pair of these for a while and decided to double my fun. Merry Christmas Greg!!! Here is a shot of them acclimating with the peppermint shrimp that were tossed in on the deal. Just trying to decide which tank to house them in until the transfer.

I see you picked up the anthias. I loved them, and debated taking them myself. I'm sure they'll be very happy in your system.

I like their crazy look, but man are they pricey. I don't know if I'll ever stray away from the more common Lyretails. ;)

Marc, I believe they're down to $70 a pop ;)

I wish they were even close to that here.

Well, I like paying $15 each when the Lyretails are on sale on LiveAquaria. :D

I believe the most expensive fish I've ever bought was the Flame Angel, and it was $54.

Thanks Eric.
Well I decided to put the anthias in my "jump proof" tank for the time being. In that same tank I have my mystery wrasse, radiant wrasse, fairy wrasse, firefish, marine beta, etc. I am really looking forward to these fish going into the big tank.:D

Last time i saw this anthis for sale here in Brazil, it was like R$1.000 ( thousand reais ).
That´s around U$ 400!!!
You guys are SOOO lucky!
By the way, very nice set up Greg....awesome corals and fish

Rodrigo

SunnyX - Great looking build so far Greg! I love the blotched Anthais.

Thanks Rodrigo. Wow that is expensive, I thought I paid too much at $600 for all 4 of them as a package deal. I guess I still did but thanks for making me feel better about it.

Getting ready for the new tank I changed the 250 w bulbs in my MH fixture to 14k aqua connects and I am pleased with the extra pop. I can hardly wait to see how it will look when I combine them with my T5's.:D
Here's a couple of coral shots under the new 14k bulbs.

Regarding the Anthias I have 3 that are quite pink and one that is much more yellow and has much longer "tassles" on the dorsal fin. Am I to suppose I have a male & 3 females? I am quite pleased with these fish so far......they are all eating well and look awesome.

what's that last pic, that coral is beautiful?
Thanks, I believe it to be a.cerealis.

Sweet fish Greg. I glad they went to what will be a stunning back drop for them. We were worried we would have them for awhile and as it turned out we could have sold 10 if we had them. Not to worry, the dominant fish will stay a male and the rest will end up female.
