I was just wondering if anyone has any information about dates, times, or prices for the Omaha Zoo behind the scenes tour? I want to get reservations made; it's less than a month away! Thanks - Steph

If your a student.. You can call them up and ask them to intern there for a day and you will get alot more hands on. Also its free. I did it over a year ago.

Hotel

I started looking for a hotel for the weekend of the group tour, and they are all sold out. Some big event is happening in the Old Market. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem?

We might pull the camper out which sleeps about 10 or so .....we will definitely pull it out if we can get enough people to cover the fuel

Theres one bonus to travelling as much as I do, with 72 hours advance notice Holiday Inn has to give me a room, even if they have to cancel someone else.

You could always check hotels part way between omaha and DSM. Adair wounldn't be a bad drive and may have some rooms.

I haven't checked into hotels as Winterset isn't that bad of a drive so I'll just go home that night.

We plan to attend. We have Friday night reservations at the Super 8 Motel in Walnut, Iowa. Walnut is just of I80 exit 46. This motel is 49-50 miles from the zoo.

If this sounds of interest, go directly to Super8.com's website. This saves you $5.00 plus over the other hotel booking websites.

I assume the behind the scenes tour is still Sat. May 6th at 1PM?

Sorry everyone.. Looks like Mitch would like to do the tour at 11:00.. Can I get everyone's thoughts?

Wow, so that means we gotta leave at 5am? That kinda sucks for us waterloo ppl. 1:00 would have been better. I guess if jason is bringing the camper we could just leave friday nite.

If that is all he can do.....that will work :) I may have a few grouchy kids by the afternoon. But as long as I keep handing them candy and keep them in front of animals they should be alright!

You mean I have to be on the road by 8:30! That's just wrong. :D

8:30 if you live in Des Moines!

What are the costs for the tour?

What are the costs for the tour?

What are the costs we can expect? Is it just zoo admission? Is there a group discount?

When will the back scenes tour time be locked down?

Thanks

Jeff

Behind the scenes tour.

Behind the scenes tour.

11:00 AM tour is fine with me.

How long is the tour approximately?

I have a rapidly growing 5 (almost 6) year old that is normally ready to eat the (you know what) off a bear (ha) by 11:30-11:45 AM so I want to plan accordly.

Thanks

Jeff
