Omaha Trip

well we are not sure if we can make it guys. with the length of the drive and the time the tour is going to be it is not really realistic. when your poor folk like us we can't afford to drive the night before and get a hottel so it would be drive there do tour and head home.
 
I would love to go but cant make it by 11. We have plans until late Fri so wont be able to get the kids & us up and around and be on the road by 5:30.
 
Hello, Im just a couple of hours north of Omaha and was wondering when this is going to take place. Also does anyone know of any conventions coming up in that area. I know theres one in Des Moines in May but unfortunately I dont think I can say "But honey theres a big aquarium show this weekend and I'd really love to go" on her graduation day. Oh yeah do you have any info on your organization? PM me

Alright sorry guys.. It is this saturday and we will start the tour at 11:00. Meet at the entrance to the aquarium and as last time we will have to leave for the tour at EXACTLY 11:00. There is alot of information and not much room as we go through but it is a great time and this time we will have Mitch for the tour :)
 
Doesnt sound like we can make it. I do have a question though, why do we do this trip right after IMAC? Im sure if its right after IMAC next year we wont be able to attend again. Also, i realize that its up to Mitch on what time the tour starts, but maybe next year we can get it it a little later in the day for us ppl 4-5 hours away.

Anyway im not *****ing, i just think there would be better turn out if it were scheduled better.
 
I wish we could have done it a different date too but that is all we could get. That is one of the hardest things to decide is when to have meeting and events. There is no way we can ever accommodate everyone. We have tried everything as far a polls and suggestions but it never works out for everyone. IMAC was really not an issue when we decided on this date. It is what it is. There were only 5 members that went....one from each area actually. That's pretty cool :)

Anyway, I hope we can have a good turnout at this. Summer is busy for a lot of people and attendance tends to drop but then pick up again in the fall. That is why we don't schedule big events in the summer. We are going to try a BBQ and frag auction this summer here in the Iowa City Area. I will post more details on that later.
 
Gosh if you were just worried about the time, you could have brought sleeping bags to my place. I'm a little over two hours from the zoo and have the spare room, at least till the baby is here.

It's cool, i was just venting cause i really want to go but there is just no way we can make it. Hope someone takes some good pics for ups peeps that cant make it.
