As I sit here the TV news is on in the background, they just did the weather. They are warning San Dieagans of extreme cold for the weekend :eek1: Yup, the predicted highs/ lows for the weekend are Sat 59/44 and Sun 60/46 !!! What are we gonna do ???? Thank God I have that parka I bought for my November trip to Seattle and I had the foresight to stock up on firewood a couple weeks ago. I might even have to endure the system heaters actually comming on for a few hours!!!! If we make it through it will get back to normal by Monday but if you don't hear from me please send one of thos St Bernards with the brandy keg asap

Expecting snow in Black Beach?

We had snow here in Santa Cruz last year, and we expect it again this weekend. You should see how bad coastal Californians drivers are in the snow

Didn't you all have some snow on the mountains down in SD last year as well David?

It occasionally snows in Julian which is a very popular "Sunday drive" destination. Last year about a million people went up there (day after xmas I thnk) and got trapped, that is probably what you heard about. Most ran out of gas sitting on the highway for 12 hours running the engine for the heater

That very morning my wife had suggested we drive up there, soooo glad I said no

Watch out David.....more of that wet stuff that comes from the sky is heading down your way!

David, I can let you use my toque and gloves

fin farm. Come now, you can lend him the wollies too. Don't need those until -15. Another 5 degrees and some sunshine, and you can break out the lawn chairs and t-shirts. ;)

So last night we are sitting around watching the tube with a roaring fire in the fireplace and rain beating on the skylights driving us nuts. Like an idiot I say to my wife "well at least it's not hail " Whammo- hailstones start beating on the acrylic skylights.

As for you Northern folk who think anything with a plus sign in front of it is warm weather... well ... you need help

Hey, I resent that last remark. If it has a plus sign OR a single digit, its warm.

The last time I was in Cali (Valencia), it snowed an inch and everything shut down. There were people walking around with huge, thick jackets and snowpants, and it was only 42 degrees... You guys want me to come back? :)

Fish'InMN,

We were in Duluth when I was a kid in early summer and there was still small patches of snow in spots!

Two years ago during our spring semester finals, which is generally the second week in May, we received a nice dusting of about an inch of snow. It was very nice actually, as it kept us all indoors studying! I don't believe it all melted away until the end of the month, with the larger plowed piles lasting until mid June.

I love Minnesota! We can hit -20 easily during the winter, before windchill, and then break 100 for at least a week or two during the summer.

Back on topic for this forum... Uhhh keep up the good work guys n' gals! :D

Fish'INMN - Duluth is arguably one of my favorite places on earth...we're actually considering having our wedding there!
