OMG....my monti cap...can I save it?

Wish I had a way to post pics. It's a red cap I moved over to my building 150 reef tank. Water parameters look good but have just hung a 250w mh pendant over it. The cap is a good sized piece ( 3 or 4"s) and color was great under T-5's in my 55 reef. It slimed a bunch when I moved it but thinking that would be expected? The entire cap is turning white....thinling maybe I didn't acclimate to the light....set it too high in the tank:hmm3:. What to do now? I have 2 other pieces I want to move over but am of course unwilling. Any input truly appreciated!!!!

toss it down on the sand bed for now, monti cap is extremely resilient.

agreed, drop it out of the light, of turn your photo period way down to like 2-3hr/day , and slowly raise it back up over a few weeks-a few months, as said before they are very resiliant
