yeah, I have been following it for a few days. and posted early on. He needs to just start over. There are a few people on that thread trying to help, hopefully he will listen, take the damsels back. (all 10 of them) and start over.

Ya now hes buying a 65. He really needs some adults to help with the research and set up. A 14 year old is toooooooo young for a hobby like this. Or at least to go at it alone.

At 14 I had 5 very well maintained FW tanks and understood the concept of fish-keeping. I started obsessing over any fish books I could get my hands on.

Imagine how this kid manages the rest of his life. Sounds like he is spoiled and could care less about LEARNING. I worked off all of my tank money by house/baby-sitting. He gets handouts from mommy.....

And when I was that age I was stocking my 55 from Tampa Bay. Its amazing what you can find on the Gulf Flats with a cast net if you know where to go.

I did not read the entire thread, I could not take anymore. The kid does indeed need to learn more about the hobby there is no arguing that point. I also wonder about the LFS, what kind of establishment sells kids anything they want without asking any questions? Sounds pretty unprofessional to me from any prospective! And at the age of fourteen, I not only knew what I was doing, I hade been working at a LFS for a year helping adults figure it out…… But that’s just me.

I see those posts a lot, I wonder what the point is, it could very well be some 300 lb guy sitting in his singlewide trailer in Alabama, in the bathtub, smoking a cigar, typing on his laptop, having a blast messing with people here on RC.
