Ok i was trying to boost the pH a little so i put instant ocean sea buffer and i wasnt thinking and put it directly into to the tank and a little tiny pebble hit my LTA and it shriveled up in a second! Did this hurt the anemone?

What is wrong with using pH buffer?

If you are using a true pH buffer (( not to be confused with buffering by using a Alk supplement and/or kalk dripping )), it is only a temporary fix and the pH will go back to its "normal" level, creating swings. In addition it will mess with the Alk levels.

Better off using a 2 part (( cal and alk )) if your levels indicate, dripping Kalk and/or having more fresh air in your tank room --- excess CO2 levels in the tank area can drive down the pH levels.

So, IMO, the key is to first find out why one has low pH levels and address it that way.
