You have a dwarf lion and a mantis together? Do you see any reason that I couldn't keep a Fu Manchu and a 4in smasher together?

Fu Manchus are very kewl looking :)

What species is your smasher. Inless its a peacock I would say you could try it. Most smashers leave fish alone. Peacocks are known to strike at any thing that invades there space. I'd just be sure to keep a close eye on them for a while. If you read around alot of people keep a mantis with fish you just wouldnt think would work. I think its just one of those trial an error things. What works for some might not work for others. But for the most part smashers tend to leave fish alone.

It doest look the same as the peacocks I've seen. I have not purchased it yet, it is at a LFS and is identified as a Nicaraguan Mantis. It is about 3 or 4 inches, and colors are blue, burgundy, black, and purple. I am currently switching my 20g over to house that mantis, and was hoping to add a "Fu" too.

cool. what do you think of a "Fu" with an N. wennerae in a 30gallon (long)? the only reason I ask is the sandbed's like 4-7 " deep everywhere but the center, and thats where "phil" lives. The other reason I'm worried, is the first day phil went in he was swimming all over the place in the water column. He hasn't since, but I think thats because this is only day three that hes been in there...

I think it would be fine. N. Wenns tend to leave fish alone most of the time. But it is kinda of trial an error sort of thing. I'd just watch them for a couple to days to make sure. You also might want to be sure to feed them both before you put them in the tank. Just to make sure neither is looking for a meal when they meat for the first time lol.
